Managing Contacts

The Contact List section allows you to add contacts individually or import multiple contacts in bulk. Contacts can be organized and filtered by delivery status before being used in email campaigns.

Accessing Contacts

  1. Go to Contact List.

  2. The Contacts page displays the available contacts.

  3. Use the available actions to create, import, search, filter, or delete contacts.

Adding a Contact Individually

  1. Go to Contact List.

  2. Click New contact.

  3. Complete the Core Identity Details section.

  4. Enter the contact's email address.

  5. Select the contact's Status.

  6. Enter the First name and Last name, if available.

  7. Add custom information in the Dynamic Metadata Matrix, if required.

  8. Click Create to save the contact.

Core Identity Details

Field

Description

Email

The contact's email address. This is a required field.

Status

The contact's current email delivery status.

First name

The contact's first name.

Last name

The contact's last name.

Dynamic Metadata Matrix

The Dynamic Metadata Matrix allows you to add custom key-value information to a contact.

To add custom metadata:

  1. Enter the variable property.

  2. Enter its corresponding value.

  3. Click Add row to add another entry.

  4. Use the delete icon to remove an entry when required.

Custom metadata can be used to store additional contact information beyond the standard identity fields.

Importing Contacts in Bulk

The Import CSV / Excel option allows you to upload multiple contacts at once.

  1. Go to Contact List.

  2. Click Import CSV / Excel.

  3. In the Import Contacts window, click Download example CSV file to obtain the example file.

  4. Prepare the contact data using the required format.

  5. Click Upload a CSV file.

  6. Select the CSV file from your device.

  7. Click Import to upload the contacts.

To close the import window without importing, click Cancel or the close icon.

Use the example CSV file to understand the expected import format before preparing your contact data.

Searching Contacts

The contacts table includes a search field.

  1. Enter an email address or other available contact information.

  2. Review the matching contacts in the table.

Search helps you locate a specific contact without manually reviewing the entire list.

Filtering Contacts by Status

Contacts can be filtered according to their delivery status.

Available filters include:

Status

Description

Subscribed

Contacts who are subscribed to receive emails.

Unsubscribed

Contacts who are unsubscribed from email delivery.

Bounced

Contacts whose email delivery has resulted in a bounce.

To filter contacts:

  1. Open Contact List.

  2. Click the Filter icon.

  3. Select a status from the Status dropdown.

  4. Click Apply filters.

  5. Review the filtered contacts.

To remove the selected filter, click Reset.

Deleting Contacts

Contacts can be deleted individually or in bulk.

Deleting an Individual Contact

  1. Locate the contact in the contacts table.

  2. Select the available delete action for that contact.

  3. Confirm the deletion if prompted.

Deleting Contacts in Bulk

  1. Open Contact List.

  2. Select the contacts you want to remove.

  3. Use the bulk delete action.

  4. Confirm the deletion if prompted.

Review the selected contacts carefully before confirming a bulk deletion.

Contact Management Checklist

  • Confirm the correct contact list is open.

  • Enter a valid email address.

  • Select the appropriate contact status.

  • Add first and last names when available.

  • Add custom metadata when required.

  • Review imported data before uploading.

  • Use filters to review contact statuses.

  • Confirm the correct contacts before deleting them.
