Basic Terminology
This section explains the common terms used throughout Rollout Email. Understanding these terms will help you configure your account, create campaigns, manage contacts, and monitor email delivery.
Account & Profile
Account
Your Rollout Email account contains your personal information, email settings, billing details, and platform preferences.
Personal Information
The account details used to identify you and manage your login credentials.
Account Timezone
The timezone associated with your account. It is used when configuring campaign delivery schedules.
Billing Currency
The currency used for displaying billing amounts and payment information.
Billing & Tax Address
The address used for generating invoices, receipts, and tax-related billing details.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
An additional login-security feature that requires a temporary verification code.
Email verification codes: Receive a temporary code at your email address.
Authenticator app: Use an authenticator application to generate a temporary code.
Email & Campaigns
A message sent to one or more recipients through an email delivery service.
Campaign
A configured email-sending activity that defines the message, recipients, delivery settings, and optional tracking or scheduling.
Bulk Marketing Blast
A campaign type used to send a marketing email to a selected audience.
Campaign Name
The internal name used to identify a campaign in your account.
Email Subject
The subject line displayed to recipients. It can be defined in the campaign or overridden from the selected template.
Reply To
The email address that receives replies from recipients.
Campaign Status
The current status assigned to a campaign, such as Active.
Email Template
A reusable email design or content layout used when creating campaigns.
Email Body
The main content of an email, including text, formatting, links, and other supported elements.
Contacts & Audience
Contact
A recipient record stored in your account.
Contact List
A collection of contacts organized for managing and sending email campaigns.
Contact Tag
A label assigned to contacts to help organize them into specific groups.
Target Contact Tags
The tags selected when creating a campaign to determine which contacts should receive it.
Contact Delivery Status
The delivery-related status used to determine which contacts are eligible for a campaign.
Active Contacts
Contacts currently eligible for campaign targeting according to the selected delivery status.
Total Estimated Reach
The estimated number of contacts who will receive a campaign based on the selected audience criteria.
SMTP & Delivery
SMTP
Simple Mail Transfer Protocol. The protocol used to send email messages through a mail server.
SMTP Configuration
A saved set of mail-server connection details used to send emails.
SMTP Delivery Profile
The SMTP configuration selected for a campaign.
SMTP Host Address
The address of the SMTP server used for email delivery.
SMTP Port
The network port used to connect to the SMTP server.
Transport Security Layer
The security method used to protect the SMTP connection, such as TLS.
SMTP Username / Access Key
The username or access key used to authenticate with the SMTP server.
SMTP Password / Secret Token
The password or secret token used to authenticate with the SMTP server.
SMTP Rotation
The use of multiple SMTP delivery profiles within a campaign.
SMTP Slot
An available SMTP configuration slot that can be used for email delivery.
Batch Speed
The number of emails sent during each SMTP rotation.
Total Limit
The maximum number of emails that a campaign can send. Leaving this field blank means there is no campaign-specific limit.
Templates
Builder Template
An email template created using the visual workspace editor.
Text Template
An email template created using a text-based editing interface.
Rich Text Email Template
A template that contains formatted text and email content.
Template Name
The name used to identify a template.
Template Subject
The default subject line associated with a template.
Workspace Editor
The visual editor used to design an email template.
Elements Matrix
The editor area containing layout and content elements that can be added to a template.
Layouts Matrix
The section of the editor containing layout options such as columns and split layouts.
Style Settings
The editor settings used to customize the appearance of selected elements.
Dimension
Controls related to the size and spacing of an element.
Typography
Controls related to text appearance, including font and text formatting.
Decorations
Controls related to visual styling and decorative properties.
Billing & Credits
Credit
The unit used to measure available sending and account resources.
Credit Wallet
The account balance containing credits available for daily sending and add-ons.
Available Credits
The current credit balance available in your account.
Estimated Wallet Value
The estimated monetary value of the credits in your wallet.
Top-Up
Adding credits to your wallet.
Prepaid Credit Purchase
A purchase that adds credits to your wallet for use on eligible platform services.
Subscription Plan
The base plan assigned to your account.
Free Baseline
The free plan with standard starter limits.
Basic Pro
A paid subscription plan with expanded limits for growing businesses.
Lifetime Deal (LTD)
A one-time purchase plan that provides elevated access for a defined period.
Add-On
An optional upgrade that increases a specific account limit or capability.
Modular Add-On Upgrade
An add-on that can be purchased separately and combined with an existing plan.
Invoice
A billing record containing payment and purchase details.
Receipt
A record confirming a payment or purchase.
Gateway
The payment method or payment-processing service used for a transaction.
Billing & Tax Address
The address associated with billing documents and tax information.
Campaign Delivery
Schedule Delivery Time
The date and time at which a campaign is scheduled to be sent.
Send Immediately
The campaign delivery option used when no schedule is specified.
File Attachment
A file included with an email campaign.
File Attachments
The section used to upload files that will be sent with a campaign.
Campaign Tracking
Optional settings used to measure campaign activity and send delivery events to external systems.
Google Analytics (UTM) Parameters
Tracking parameters added to campaign links to help identify traffic sources and campaign activity.
Live Delivery Webhook
A feature that sends open and click events to an external analytics server.
A/B Testing
A method of testing different subject lines or content variations on a sample audience before sending to the remaining recipients.
A/B Split Testing
The campaign configuration used to enable A/B testing.
Email Performance
Emails Sent
The total number of emails sent.
Open Rate
The percentage of delivered emails that were opened.
Click Rate
The percentage of delivered emails that received a click.
Failed Email
An email that could not be delivered.
Delivery Failure
A failed email delivery.
Campaign Performance
A visual report showing campaign activity over a selected period.
Sent
The number of emails sent.
Opened
The number of emails opened.
Clicked
The number of emails that received a click.
Failed
The number of emails that failed to deliver.
Navigation Terms
Dashboard
The main overview page for monitoring email activity and account performance.
Media
The section used to manage media files.
Contact List
The section used to manage contacts and recipient lists.
Credit Wallet & Top-Up
The section used to view credits and purchase additional credits.
Plans & Upgrades
The section used to view subscription plans and add-on upgrades.
Invoices & Receipts
The section used to view billing records.
